BREAKING - Jasper Set To Join WPHA for 2019-2020
The community of Jasper, Alberta, has been waiting patiently for a Junior A team to come to the picturesque, Alberta city of 5,000 for quite some-time. Throughout the past, Jasper has hosted its fair share of local and international hockey games and camps, including pre-competition camps for the Canada's National Women's team in a bid to showcase the passion the area has for hockey.
It is for this reason and many others, the Western Provinces Hockey Association is extremely excited to announce the conditional acceptance of the the city of Jasper into the WPHA and Western States Hockey League.
Jasper will be the fifth WPHA divisional team located in Canada with talks on expanding to Slave Lake, and Fort Saskatchewan. Overall the WPHA is hoping to add four teams when play begins on a new season in September.
As a full member of the Western States hockey league, Jasper will be competing in next year's Thorne Cup playoffs as well as heading to Vegas next December for the league wide Showcase where this year the event saw 161 confirmed NCAA scouts.
